MET Services has been operating since 1980 in the Brisbane metropolitan area in both electrical industrial/commercial installation and maintenance and in specialised battery charger servicing.
In 1994 Vince Boman joined the company as our Engineering Manager. He has had over 25 years experience in all aspects of electrical engineering with a successful history in automating plant using PLC and SCADA systems.
Our staff has continued to grow, adding additional experience and expertise. Our current staff of 18 allows us to support our diverse client base in all aspects of electrical design, installation and maintenance.
The last 8 years has seen us expand into Marine electrical design and installation with Jason Locke adding his electrical surveyor qualifications.
Director/Operations Manager - Peter HEMPHILL
Peter started the business in 1980 when he settled in Brisbane after gaining experience from his original apprenticeship at the Newcastle regional electricity authority by working throughout Canada, England and South Africa. He holds the companies Electrical Contracting License. He has overseen the growth of the company and is instrumental in maintaining the extensive client base.
He is probably best known as the go to man for industrial battery chargers in Queensland having worked and maintained all types of charger but particularly SSL having been their QLD representive for 26 years.
Director/Engineering Manager - Vince BOMAN
Vince is a Working Director of MET Services. He completed is Electrical Engineering Degree at UQ in 1978 and his MBA (Technology) through Deakin University in 1993. His career started at Queensland Alumina in 1978 as graduate engineer in the Boiler house and moved to Cement Australia in 1981. Vince was involved in the construction and commissioning of the Cement Australia Gladstone project and stayed on as the Senior Electrical Engineer until 1992. The years were invaluable in gaining experience in automated control systems and their applications in real plant operation.
The move back to Brisbane in 1992 led to various project work as a contract Engineer leading to his association with MET Services in which he became a Director in 1996. MET Services has continued to grow from that period with work in varied industrial fields utilising the skills and experience of all it's employees. The last number of years has been a considerable move into the marine field with design and installation of complete AC system for commercial craft. The move has been based on using proven industrial system design for improved operation. This industrial experience and systems approach has resulted in a broad range of clients from varied industries.
Engineering Supervisor/Electrical Surveyor - Jason LOCKE
Jason joined MET Services in 1998 having also worked with Cement Australia. He completed his apprenticeship at Cement Australia Gladstone with Vince as the Senior Engineer. He relocated to Cement Australia Bulwer Island where he gained extensive maintenance and control system experience maintaining the 24 hour operation. He completed his Associate Diploma of electrical engineering while becoming the resident control system coordinator. He has since completed his Degree in Electrical Engineering, obtained his Marine Electrical Surveyor accreditation and his electrical contracting license to ensure the client's needs are met. He is at his best planning those electrical and data projects that meet completion in time, on budget and with a minimum of disruption.
